At the beginning of 2022, DIAVENA successfully passed the world’s leading social audit 2-Pillar SMETA version 6.1. The audit was performed by the international company RINA, which is a certified auditor under the SMETA system. SMETA, the most widely used format for ethical audit worldwide, is based on ILO conventions and relevant local laws and covers all aspects of responsible business practice. SMETA (Ethical Commercial Audit of Sedex Members) reports are published in the SEDEX system, which ensures transparency and effective information sharing and will certainly give greater confidence to the customers of DIAVENA The two pillars required for each SMETA audit are labor standards and healthy and safe working conditions. 2-Pillar SMETA version 6.1 also contains additional elements – recruitment practices, the right to work, subcontracting and homework, and an abbreviated environmental assessment.
The audit went through a check the compliance of the documented policy of DIAVENA with the existing legislation and the requirements of the standard. The auditor conducted on-site observations and collective and individual interviews were also held at all key and support personnel levels on the actual working conditions in the company and the management required by senior management. The audit, conducted in the production plant of DIAVENA, examines the degree of social protection of employees and covers production units, support services, and administration. DIAVENA successfully went through all stages of the audit, with a high rating and no remarks or recommendations to eliminate irregularities.
